The subfamily CALINAGINAE

The enigmatic genus Calinaga has long been unplaced in the classification of Nymphalidae, though several authors have suggested affinities with the morphines or Charaxinae. Current molecular and morphological work is placing it as sister to Charaxinae+Satyrinae. The phylogenetic relationships of the species have not been studied.
