The subfamily PSEUDERGOLINAE
The subfamily Pseudergolinae has usually been placed within the Limenitidinae. Our molecular work is showing that the tribe Pseudergolinae is an independent lineage more related to Nymphalinae/Apaturinae/Biblidinae/Cyrestinae than to Limenitidinae (see Wahlberg et al. 2003 and 2005). The subfamily comprises 7 species placed in 4 genera (according to the latest version of the Classification of Nymphalidae). The phylogenetic relationships of species in this subfamily appear to be clear, with Pseudergolis+Amnosia and Dichorragia+Stibochiona being sister genera.
