The NSG Voucher Specimen Database
The NSG voucher specimen database has been created and is maintained by Carlos Peña.
This database is a dynamic web application able to process user
searches and output information of our vouchers by creating HTML
webpages on the fly, making it really interactive.
All the
information is stored in a Relational Database Management System
(RDMS), while the bridge between user and data is provided by a Common
Gateway Interface (CGI) developed in PHP language.
In order to provide a better experience for the user, this database has
inbuilt features of the so-called Web 2.0 paradigm (such as AJAX),
which means that in case you have disabled JavaScript in your browser,
you will need to enable it so that you can enjoy all the benefits of
AJAX.
This database has been built with the open source
software PHP and MySQL (as the back-end RDMS), and has been optimized
for the web browser Mozilla Firefox. Why Firefox?, because it is relatively fast, safe and tries to follow the World Wide Web international standards.
Please send any bug complaints to Carlos Peña.
