The NSG's DNA sequences database:The NSG voucher specimen database was created and is maintained by Carlos Peña. Here you can find all available information for specimens from which DNA has been extracted. There is also information about which genes and how many base pairs have been sequenced. The actual sequence information is not available publicly, except for sequences which have been deposited in GenBank. You can search the database using any of the fields, or alternatively click on the links below to pull up information about vouchers used in our publications. Searching for "Exemplar" in the "Notes" field will give you voucher information for our exemplar specimen of every species of Nymphalidae that we have extracted. Searching for "Type species?" = "Yes" will pull up our exemplar species of each genus that we have extracted, which is not always the actual type species of the genus. We are also in the process of databasing all our unextracted specimens (search "Notes" for "Unextracted"). For automated haverst of our data, append the arguments &format=json to the voucher page
to get the data in JSON format (see here).
It also provides the data ready for JSONP calls of jQuery.
Now blogging here.
